Jonathan Manu Bennett is an Australian-New Zealand actor. He is primarily known for portraying characters in epic fantasy works, such as Crixus in the TV series Spartacus (2010–2013), Allanon in The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017), Slade Wilson / Deathstroke in Arrow (2013–2020), Paradise Beach (1993-1994) as Kirk Barsby, Death Race 2050 (2017) as Frankenstein and Azog the Defiler in The Hobbit trilogy (2012-2014).  

He in 2000 to appeared in the popular television drama, Shortland Street as Jack Hewitt, then went on to play a cop turned lawyer in Street Legal (2002-2003) before working with his director cousin Michael Bennett on the Māori Twilight Zone-styled series Mataku before working with Richard Taylor from the Academy Award-winning firm Weta Workshop on Creature Quest.

Also he was in: Water Rats (1996-1997), The Violent Earth (1998), The Marine (2006), The Condemned (2007), 30 Days of Night (2007), Sinbad and The Minotaur (2011), Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms (2012), Pandora (2019), The Gone (2023) and The Summit (2024).
