Howie Hammerman is an American sound designer.
He provided the famous burping sound for E.T. in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, often credited as "Elliot's burp". He also famously provided "the burp" for Jabba the Hutt in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
Hammerman has a prolific career in audio engineering and he is a highly respected audio professional who worked on massive blockbusters spanning several decades, such as :
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Howard the Duck, Minority Report, The Ring and Avatar.
