Fright Night is a 1985 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Tom Holland, in his directorial debut. The film follows teenager Charley Brewster (played by William Ragsdale), who discovers that his next-door neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) is a vampire. When no one believes him, Charley decides to get Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), a TV show host who acted in films as a vampire hunter, to stop Jerry's killing spree.

Thomas Lee Holland is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and former actor. He is best known for his work in the horror film genre, penning the screenplay for Psycho II (1983), the sequel to the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho; writing and directing the cult vampire film Fright Night (1985); and directing and co-writing Child's Play (1988), the first entry in the long-running Child's Play franchise. He also wrote and directed the Stephen King adaptations The Langoliers (1995) and Thinner (1996), and directed an episode of Masters of Horror (2007).

Robert William Ragsdale  is an American actor. He is known for playing Charley Brewster in the cult horror-comedy film Fright Night (1985) as Charley Brewster, and its sequel Fright Night Part 2 (1988), and Herman Brooks on the television series Herman's Head (1991–94). 

He was cast in the pilot for Charmed, then Brother's Keeper and had recurring role in TV series Judging Amy, Less than PerfectJustified, and in the movie Left Behind.

Amanda Bearse is an American actress, comedian and director. She starred in the 1985 supernatural horror film Fright Night as Amy Peterson, and later starred as Marcy Rhoades D'Arcy in the Fox sitcom Married... with Children (1987–1997). Bearse later began working as a television director, directing over 90 episodes of several comedy series.

Bearse made her television debut playing the role of Amanda Cousins in the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children from 1982 to 1983. The following year, she had a small role in the comedy film Protocol, and later landed a role in the sex comedy Fraternity Vacation.  

She also appeared in : The Doom Generation and Here Come the Munsters (both 1995), Drop Dead Diva (2011) and  Anger Management (2013).
