Alan Fernandez, also known as Alan Fernandes, was an American local actor.  

Alan was working as a large animal handler and trainer. It takes a special person to be an animal trainer and Alan was the best. He took care of Mardji, the Elephant who was the Bantha in A New Hope. His job was to keep Mardji safe and happy during the filming in Death Valley. 

This led him to the role of a Tusken Raider along with Bob Spiker in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. During what became one of the most iconic films of all time.
